Paris Collection

Two dress shirts with ties laid out on a light background.

We are always thinking about shirts, but what is the one shirt we desire the most right now? During our visit to Paris, we saw gentlemen effortlessly dressed in a harmony of rich colors, exuding a natural elegance.

For centuries, it is not only the historic buildings and cityscapes that have remained unchanged. Suits and shirts, their designs largely untouched, continue to be crafted with the same unwavering philosophy by long-established tailors. And perhaps, that is precisely the kind of clothing we want to wear today. With original fabrics and impeccable craftsmanship, achievable only by Japan’s finest makers.

we have captured the elegance of Paris. For those who truly love shirts, we bring you this creation.

Born in 1977. After working as a sales associate at a select shop, he joined a design firm in Milan before taking on his current role. He spent a quarter of each year in Europe, but in 2020, he distanced himself from Tokyo and relocated to Kamakura in pursuit of creating the true Kamakura shirt. As of 2024, while once again turning his attention toward Europe, he also deeply values the significance of Kamakura’s local culture. Hobby: Exploring new lifestyles.

Shirts

The finest 400-thread count / 4PLY fabric, an exclusive original by Kamakura Shirts. The 8.0 cm semi-wide collar offers a balanced design that pairs effortlessly with any jacket. A 3.0 cm placket and 6.5 cm cuffs. Though not the golden ratio of 1:φ, if there were a golden ratio for shirts, this balance might just be the ideal form.

A shirt is more than just clothing, it reflects the presence and way of life of the person who wears it. That is why we have relentlessly pursued a piece that we can take pride in.

The gentlemen we saw in Paris carried an effortless elegance, a natural grace that inspired us to express that same refinement through Japanese craftsmanship and our exclusive fabrics.

Every detail has a purpose, and the design prioritizes harmony as a whole. With each wear, we hope you can feel the philosophy and passion that define Kamakura Shirts.

Ties

A tie is a reflection of a gentleman’s personality. Crafted from exclusive fabrics commissioned from one of Italy’s finest mills, these ties feature striking colors and rich textures, exuding a refined yet vibrant elegance. In pursuit of timeless design, we have opted for a classic loopless construction. To enhance the three-dimensional knot, we have meticulously designed the width of the tie’s blade to be 8.5 cm, a detail that makes all the difference.

A highly anticipated piece. While it would be delightful to add a touch of elegance with cufflinks… The French cuff version will be introduced in the next collection. Will it be next month? Or the one after? Stay tuned and look forward to it!

Born in 1992, with roots in Kyushu and Kansai. From his first job, he has been involved in shirt planning and production. In 2024, he assumed his current role, focusing on the design and development of jackets and shirts. While he has begun exploring bespoke tailoring for suits and tracing the origins of clothing as a lifelong pursuit, he now faces a deeper question, perhaps true masculinity is shaped by something beyond just clothing.
